Several years ago, this particular hospital implemented a patient-focused care model, decentralizing patient room cleaning from environmental services to unit-based Unit Assistants (UA) having multiple job responsibilities. The Patient Satisfaction Survey Comfort and Cleanliness scores had steadily declined under die decentralized model.
