And it is a jewel set in gold: First, with the Gold Rush of the 1850s; then with Olympic gold, won by many on the snowy slopes of Squaw Valley in 1960; and today, with visitors trying their luck in the casinos of Reno and in the resorts along the Nevada side of the lake. Meeting and incentive groups can partake in this legacy, along with a bountiful collection of year-round outdoor activities in the miles stretching out from Lake Tahoe, which is less than an hour's drive from Reno/Tahoe International Airport.
