DART dazzles the doubters. (Dallas Area Rapid Transit, light rail service)

DART opened the last section of a 20-mile system in Jan 1997. Ridership and revenues are higher than projected, a clear victory since the voters had turned down the initial DART bid in 1989. The well-designed stations and convenient services are attracting riders, even in the car-oriented city.
