Zusammenfassung: | For students, internship programs provide real-world experience and the opportunity to test their skills in a professional environment. Participating companies can showcase their employment opportunities and evaluate potential employment candidates. The college develops relationships with potential employers and gains a basis for assessing the relevance of its curriculum. JCPenney Co., the University of North Texas, and student interns have joined forces to create a realistic and mutually beneficial learning experience. The JCPenney internship program runs 10 to 12 weeks during the summer and each intern is exposed to a variety of areas within the organization. Besides gaining insight into the internal auditing function, a student can gain a clear picture of the audit department of a particular company. Internships also give students a competitive advantage in an intense job market. An internship program gives the university an opportunity to showcase its "product" to participating companies. Another benefit is the exchange with other students when interns return to campus to complete their education. |
