Zusammenfassung: | In the context of human resource development, university libraries in Japan place much value on overseas training programs for their librarians at the libraries in foreign countries, where the Japanese librarians stay for a lengthy period to learn as trainees. This article describes the details about, as a concrete case, that Keio University Media Center has dispatched its librarians for a long time. In addition, from the perspective of arranging the programs, the important factors for success and continuity are stated, focusing on selecting an appropriate trainee, improving a trainee's English skill, considering give-and-take balance with the libraries overseas and securing financial resource to subsidize the trainee's expenses. |
