Zusammenfassung: | About 10 years ago, a small group of ranchers from the Coastal Prairie Grazing Land Coalition region of Texas began experimenting with alternative methods of aerial applications of herbicides to control unwanted weeds and brush species. The second skipped strip received enough herbicide drift to effectively control about 50 percent of the area.Since growing more grass was their goal, and weed growth was the problem affecting grass growth, this second method was deemed very successful in achieving their goal. The group had found that spraying huisache with what is now called the "3-way mix," sprayed 3 years in a row, has about a 90 percent kill rate.Since this method has proven very satisfactory it was decided to try the spray-l-skip-1 method on the brush control effort. |
