Zusammenfassung: | At Sigma Theta Tau International's (STTI) first-ever Information Technologies Exposition on November 29, 1993, held in conjunction with the STTI biennial convention, nurses were introduced to several exciting new databases. Judith Graves, acting director of the STTI International Nursing Library, introduced the electronic Virginia Henderson International Nursing Library, a collection of online databases produced bu STTI and residing on a computer at STTI headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jane Barnsteiner introduced the Online Journal of Knowledge Synthesis for Nursing, jointly produced by STTI and OCLC Electronic Journals Online Service and residing on the OCLC computer. At the conference, Diane Skiba of the Center for Nursing Informatics at the University of Colorado, enthusiastically discussed the Internet and various other computer-mediated communication tools. In addition, Skiba explained groupware and TeamMate software, which facilitates group work in a computer system. |
