Zusammenfassung: | Chan received a bachelor's degree in foreign languages from National Taiwan University, a master's degree in English, and an MLS from Florida State University in Tallahassee, and a doctorate in comparative literature from the University of Kentucky. During her career she has received seven major honors and awards, including two awards for excellence in teaching from the University of Kentucky-the Alumni Association Great Teacher Award and the College of Communications and Information Studies Excellence in Teaching Award-and ALA's Association for Library Collections and Technical Services (ALCTS) Margaret Mann Citation. An active member of ALA and the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions, Byrum has received numerous awards including ALA's Association for Library Collections and Technical Services' Esther J. Piercy Award and Margaret Mann Citation. Professor in the School of Information at the University of Texas at Austin, Loriene Roy was recognized "for her service and research that has opened doors for minority students and librarians to successful careers in librarianship," for supporting the cause of librarians and library patrons of color through her numerous publications, for making equality for all librarians her lifelong goal. |
