Zusammenfassung:Geothermal heat pumps are the most efficient way to heat, cool, and produce domestic hot water. Installation cost, however, prevents their wider use. An alternative is offered that helps bring that cost down so that it is comparable to standard heating-cooling systems. In 1982, DeMarco Energy Systems began researching the possibility of using the water running in front of almost every home and business in the US to supply the water-source heat pump. This infinite and renewable resource could be tapped for the purpose of supplying water to the heat pump, then returning the water to the main with absolutely no contamination. Like traditional geothermal heat pumps, the DeMarco Energy Miser system uses a water-circulating pipe to absorb heat from a water source via a heat exchanger. The heat is transferred to an interior refrigerant loop.
