Zusammenfassung:Over the past 30 years, some of the most dynamic changes to affect personal care consumer goods have taken place in skin care. The fast-moving consumer industry is dominated by major multinational corporations and has experienced aggressive competition, mergers and acquisitions, and sophisticated ingredients and functionality. Since the major players are mainly Europe-based, it is of no surprise that the field is led by Germany, France, UK, Italy and Spain. Global innovation in the skin care marketplace has been achieved by those companies focusing their R&D, together with product development strategies, on the end consumer. Concepts and formulations often are centrally developed and standardized to maximize R&D investment returns. This has resulted in a more streamlined development process focused principally on clinical research and evidenced-based claims to differentiate their products in the minds of both the industry and the consumer.
