Fortunately, when physicians look at the present state of medical information systems, the situation looks more hopeful than ever before. The movement to handheld computers will be evolutionary, but will bring about revolutionary changes in the practice of medicine. As the handheld becomes as indispensable as a physician's stethoscope, the expectations will escalate. Part of that escalation will likely include wireless connectivity.
