Zusammenfassung: | In the dramatic play area, put out recipe cards with the numerals highlighted, and observe how the children integrate the numbers into their play. Children can use a tally system to record "checked-out" books. 5 Environmental print Have children contribute over time to a chart of environmental print-images of familiar words and logos from packaging, gas stations, traffic signs; "Thank you" on trash cans. Children will learn to read many of the words over the school year; by the end of the year, they will have a visual representation of the quantity 100-an exciting concept I've heard preschoolers call "the biggest number in the world!" 6 Transitions Children can count together when waiting for the bathroom, washing hands, and lining up to go outdoors. |
