Zusammenfassung: | In an interview, Dollar General Corp Talent Development & Training senior director (ret) Donna Turk talked about her remarkable career. She said that she had no intention of being in retail, but her retail career spanned over 43 years. She started as a Target cashier when she was 17. Her mentor saw something in her that she had no idea was there and had her start opening stores and training the new employees. They saw that she had talent and passion, and it all aligned. She then moved into managing Target's college internship program and she was responsible for developing them to become store managers. After Target, she went to the Schottenstein furniture division as their HR director of stores. She started a training program for the district managers and headquarters leadership. They need to recognize that leaders have to learn their job. Those are the technical aspects. |
