Zusammenfassung:America's dependence on oil has consistently shaped their economic, energy, foreign and defense policies. Now this country has the potential to enter a new chapter where their level of involvement throughout the world will not be dictated by dependence on energy but instead by other strategic objectives. The nation fosters unparalleled innovation and technological development. American ingenuity unlocked vast supplies of natural gas from shale deposits deep beneath the earth's surface. In some cases, policies need to be revised to clear the way for all Americans to experience the energy efficiency, environmental and affordability benefits of natural gas. The IGU represents the natural gas industries of 91 nations and is involved in advocacy around the world on their behalf. This is a critical opportunity to capitalize on the US' role as a global energy leader.
