DFAS FM Certification Program: Certifying the Workforce

The implementation of the new DoD Financial Management (FM) Certification Program runs in clear parallel to the Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) vision "To be a recognized leader in DoD's financial management by consistently delivering first class service and products." The FM Certification Program aligns with the DFAS strategy of delivering efficient, exceptional quality pay and financial information through a high performing and skilled workforce. The program will support DFAS in continuing to effectively serve its customers now and in the future. To ensure a successful implementation, the DFAS FM Certification Program Manager, Traci Whiteaker, and her team prepared tools, resources and a phased implementation approach with bargaining and non-bargaining employees. Looking forward, DFAS is confident that full program implementation will support a well trained workforce that positions DFAS to successfully execute its mission today and in the future.
