Zusammenfassung: | Being a partner, a manager, or a CPA in an accounting firm is a big deal to a new hire and especially to an intern or an entry-level recruit from a local college campus. Employees, whether long term or brand new, can sometimes find it difficult to have an open and honest conversations with "the boss." It is up to you to set the stage for comfortable, insightful, and helpful conversations with your clients and future clients. Consider selecting a task force that is comprised of team members tasked with drafting a procedure that will be used to greet all visitors who come to your office. If the firm has a tax committee or an audit committee, include some of the youngest people so they can learn how the firm operates and have access to a forum in which to contribute. Consider using a task force as a helpful vehicle to gather ideas and information to address specific issues within the firm. Use immediate performance evaluations after each significant client engagement to provide the team member with specific feedback and create an opportunity to discuss the individual's performance without waiting for the formal semi-annual appraisal. |
