Discusses the preparation and processing of sheep guts to produce gut-strings, starting with the scouring operation which lasts for five to eight days, the application of sodium oxychloride to the scoured guts followed by the insufflation process, desiccation of insufflated gut, and fumigation by sulphur, after which the gut is ready for use.
