La configuración arquitectónica del monasterio hispano entre la tardoantigüedad y el alto medievo : balance historiográfico y nuevas perspectivas

Since the Romanic period, the monastery has been an important influence on Hispanic tradition. An essay is presented that examines this architectural tradition and contemporary research of it. It looks at the predecessors to the monastery, considering how these ancient sources influenced medieval architecture. The researchers and their areas of study are detailed. This includes consideration of the influence of other European countries, the archaeological methodology for identifying and studying Christian monasteries, and the role of documentation.
