Zusammenfassung:	Highlights ► The subjects of our study are Japanese consecutive autopsy cases. ► These subjects have abundant information of the pathological and clinical. ► Coronary atherosclerosis is the most important intermediate phenotype of MI. ► The prevalence of pathological and clinical MI increased with the severity of CSI. ► The polymorphisms of LTA and LGALS2 were associated with CSI, but not with pathological MI.
