Zusammenfassung: | This study discusses both the limitations and the benefits of narrative within the context history and literature. Because narrative is the most widely used style in historiography, the relationship between narrative and history needs to be examined. Narratives of the past form a variety of discourses, and the narrativization of history gives us a complete view of the past. In addition, narrative constitutes a sense of duration in history. However, narrative also generates many problems in historiography. These are questions of history as metanarrative and the diachronic approach in historiography. This study analyzes the questions that originate from historians' praxis and makes suggestions with regard to the highly problematic use of narrative in historiography.
