Zusammenfassung:To the Editor: In the Case Record, Cash and colleagues (Nov. 10 issue) 1 report a case of limbic encephalitis with antibodies to leucine-rich, glioma-inactivated 1 (LGI1) in a 75-year-old man with amnesia and recurrent seizures. Some seizures described seem similar to “faciobrachial dystonic seizures.” 2 Such seizures have characteristic signs and occur almost exclusively in association with LGI1 antibodies. Although seizure signs in the reported case were at times suggestive of more typical temporal-lobe epilepsy, 3 , 4 some seizures were characterized by facial twitching, dysarthria, and hand posturing. These features are in keeping with the core distinctive features of faciobrachial dystonic seizures; . . .
