Zusammenfassung: | When present, a persistent left superior vena cava (LSVC) in most cases drains into the right atrium via an intact coronary sinus and there are no clinical consequences. Rarely, the LSVC empties into the left atrium via an unroofed coronary sinus. Associated complex congenital heart abnormalities are present in most individuals with this condition. As an isolated lesion, this finding is unusual. Here, Uchida et al present a case of an apparently normal girl who presented with mild hypoxemia of unknown origin and was found to have a LSVC draining to a completely unroofed coronary sinus. |
