Zusammenfassung:General chemical characteristics of lakes in the Adirondack region of new York are evaluated, and mechanisms regulating the acid-base chemistry of these waters are assessed. Seepage and drainage lakes are compared. Differences in lake sensitivity and water chemistry are largly the result of variations in water flow paths and in the contact of water with the surficial geology.
