Zusammenfassung:We describe kinetic electromagnetic particle-in-cell simulation of a field reversed configuration with rotating magnetic fields (RMF). The energy-conserving algorithm calculates RMF penetration, gas breakdown and field reversal for the odd-parity RMF, PFRC device. An advanced simulation technique is being developed that preserves charged particle orbits for large time steps. These techniques are being developed to model future devices.
