Zusammenfassung: | Think electrophilic: While the classical π‐excessive indole is well‐known for its electrophilic substitutions at position C3, recent advances in asymmetric catalysis resulted in a surge in utilizing the less discussed electrophilic properties of iminium‐type intermediates (see picture) in complex annulations of indoles. Advances in AuI catalysis also allow an umpolung of the classical indole C3 reactivity. |
