Zusammenfassung:Highlights ► Endocrine appetite and dietary lipid effects were examine in salmon at high temperature. ► Salmon at 19 °C reduced feed intake, growth and feed utilization compared to fish at 14 °C. ► Due to high maintenance cost salmon at 19 °C depleted their endogenous body reserves. ► Circulating ghrelin, ghrelin-1 and GHSR1a-LR mRNA levels were reduced in salmon at 19 °C. ► We suggest ghrelin are related to suppressed feed intake and voluntary anorexia at 19 °C.
