Personal exposure to nitrogen dioxide: relationship to indoor/outdoor air quality and activity patterns

Zusammenfassung:Personal nitrogen dioxide exposures and indoor and outdoor air concentrations were measured in the Portage, WI, area, for nearly 350 individuals. No 2 levels in homes with gas stoves averaged 18 mg/cu M higher in summer and 36 mg/cu M higher in winter than outdoor levels. Personal exposures were closely correlated with indoor averages for households with gas stoves and with electric stoves. The association between personal exposure and outdoor levels of no 2 was weakest during winter for both stove groups.
