Zusammenfassung: | Results are reported from experiments investigating the recovery of organic contaminants by micellar-enhanced ultrafiltration and cloud point technique. Researchers determined that application of micellar-enhanced ultrafiltration and cloud point technique provided for a high level of recovery for a range of organic contaminants without the need to utilize any hydrocarbon solvents. Findings indicated that the cloud point technique provided higher recovery performance than ultrafiltration. Accurate estimates for the recovery of pollutants using both of these methods can be developed based on the micelle binding constants or from linear solvation free energy relationships developed based on the Abraham model. Strategies for optimizing performance under different conditions are examined. |
