Aqueous biphasic catalysis with polyoxometalates: Oximation of ketones and aldehydes with aqueous ammonia and hydrogen peroxide

Na[WZn(HO)[ZnWO)], easily self assembled from NaWO and Zn(NO), catalyses the oxidation of ammonia with hydrogen peroxide to hydroxylamine, which further reacts with ketones and aromatic aldehydes in an aqueous biphasic medium without organic solvent to yield oximes as valuable intermediates.
