A new recombinant Orf virus (ORFV, Parapoxvirus) protects rabbits against lethal infection with rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV)

Highlights ► A new ORFV recombinant expressing VP1 of the calicivirus RHDV was generated. ► It protects rabbits against RHDV challenge infection. ► Different dose were tested for induction of specific immunity and protection. ► It represents a novel potential live vaccine against RHDV.
