Zusammenfassung: | This paper presents an integration study of superconducting devices to the power grid. When a superconducting device, e.g., an SMES, is planned to be installed in a power system for peak-time use, locating it at the site where the installation can give the maximum reduction of the system loss is preferred for a more stable system operation. In this case, the loss sensitivity with respect to the bus power can be a tool for finding the optimal location of the superconducting device. This paper presents the effect of the system loss according to the change of the electrical location of a newly built superconducting device in a power system. The author introduces a derivation of the loss sensitivity and proposes a method to find the optimal location of the superconducting device for minimizing the system loss using this loss sensitivity. Optimal location of an SMES is demonstrated in an example power system. |
