note that the group of soldiers who were not exposed to a sulfur-mine fire in Iraq arouse particular concern, since their constrictive bronchiolitis was attributed to common exposures shared by many deployed military personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan. We would like to bring to the attention of the authors that at least nine times since 2007, terrorist attacks in Iraq involved the use of chlorine gas, leading to death due to acute lung injury and the acute respiratory distress syndrome and to high morbidity and mortality.
