Zusammenfassung: | It is inevitable that natural disasters such as floods, tsunamis, earthquakes, and hurricanes will continue to occur periodically and cause devastation in the US and other countries around the world. Although disaster response and the nursing process have changed dramatically and for the better since 1955, a constant remains: nurses will continue to find themselves in a position to help save lives after the latest, worst disaster. They will use their ingenuity and creativity to mitigate the effects of traumatic injuries and public health events and demonstrate technical skills and mental resolve enhanced by today's view of the nursing process. Here, Bulson and Bulson discuss nursing process and critical thinking linked to disaster preparedness. |
