Zusammenfassung: | The Pamplona Art Encounters on June 26-July 3, 1972, were a set of cultural events that introduced national and international artistic tendencies to the man on the street. The discussions it created between the public and artists are analyzed. The artistic patronage of those who made the event possible also is reflected upon. The Pamplona Art Encounters were patronized by the Huarte family--mainly Félix Huarte Goñi and his son Juan Huarte Beaumont--that promotes socio-cultural initiatives in music and plastic visual arts. Luis de Pablo, as leader of the experimental music group Alea, and painter-sculptor José Luis Alexanco were entrusted with the task of programming the event, which brought 350 avant-garde artists to Pamplona, Spain. |
