Can we use biomass produced from phytoremediation?

The present article briefly describe the concerns regarding the use of biomass derived from phytoremediation of heavy metal contaminated sites. ► Phytoremediation provides additional benefits like biomass, soil carbon sequestration and soil stabilization. ► There is a paucity of data on the fate of accumulated pollutants in harvested biomass. ► Detailed ecotoxicological risk assessment are essential before the utilization of harvested biomass from contaminated sites.
