Limitations of the scientific basis for the management of air quality in urban New Zealand

Examines whether the planned reductions in levels of air pollution in NZ sufficient to allow compliance with National Environmental Standards for Air Quality will save, in a cost effective manner, numerous lives per year. Maintains that after a careful study of the literature and the methods employed to perform the relevant calculations the author considers the benefits claimed by the Ministry for the Environment are flawed.
