Zusammenfassung:Abstract The use of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging has become an indispensable tool for the evaluation of patients with congenital heart disease. With the emergence of several generations of congenital heart disease survivors, there are now as many adults with these conditions as children, and complications are the rule rather than the exception. It is increasingly important, therefore, that the general cardiology community becomes aware of these defects and potential pitfalls to avoid. Among its many uses, cardiac magnetic resonance can provide an assessment of right ventricular function, flow, pulmonary artery anatomy, and aortic visualization that are often important considerations in these patients. This review provides an introductory visual glimpse into the varied conditions encountered and clinical questions addressed in the field of adult congenital heart disease.
