Zusammenfassung:	Serum lipid levels are related to age. In previous cross-sectional and prospective studies, total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol gradually increase after adolescence until the age of 60-65 in men and 70-75 in women, and thereafter start to decline.
