report an efficacy of 90.4% for the quadrivalent human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine against external genital lesions (mainly condylomata acuminata) related to HPV-6, 11, 16, or 18 in healthy, predominantly heterosexual males. Men who are infected with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and who have sex with men are at particularly high risk for persistent HPV infection and HPV-induced lesions.
