Zusammenfassung: | Objective To describe the hysteroscopic resection of a large atypical polypoid adenomyoma (APA) in a young patient followed by a successful pregnancy. Design Case report. Setting Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Niigata University Medical and Dental Hospital, Niigata, Japan. Patient(s) A 29-year-old female who had an endocervical tumor 4 cm in size and a diagnosis of APA. Intervention(s) Conservative hysteroscopic resection of the lesion. Main Outcome Measure(s) Disease and pregnancy outcome. Result(s) The lesion was completely resected by a pathologically guided, hysteroscopic surgery. The patient spontaneously became pregnant and gave birth by vaginal delivery and is free from disease 3 years after the surgery. Conclusion(s) Conservative hysteroscopic surgery may be a good treatment option for APA in patients who wish to preserve their fertility, even for patients with a large lesion. |
