Crankcase Explosion in Marine Diesel Engine

This paper deals with a problem which occurs in the operation of marine diesel engine, because of unprofessional handling, or sometimes in bad course of events, it often results in the total damage on the engine. In serious incidents it may result in bad injuries and even death of the ship's crew. Therefore, more attention must be paid to the phenomenon of crankcase explosion in maritime diesel engine. Attention has been paid to this problem and the way to avoid it successfully has been found to ensure the safe work of the engine. Special attention should be paid to the safety equipment on the crankcase all of which for the purpose of reducing risk of accidents during the work in the engine-room. The oil mist monitoring and detection is also a part of this paper.
