Zusammenfassung: | In the present paper, a novel design of a single element antenna structure is introduced for wireless communication applications. The proposed antenna system consists of a printed dipole with integrated balun and a reflector structure. The geometrical characteristics of them are introduced and modified in order to provide efficient antenna performance in the frequency range of 2.4 GHz The form of the radiation element is based on the printed dipole architecture. In this antenna design, the balun structure is etched on a dielectric substrate and the dipole axes are fed by a microstrip line that has a discontinuity in form of a right - angle bend. The impact of mitering these angle bends in the reflection coefficient, resonance bandwidth and radiation pattern of the printed dipole antenna with and without the reflector structure was investigated by means of simulation and experiment. |
