Zusammenfassung: | For the past year, AWWA committee members ‐ first as part of the Sustainability Ad Hoc Committee and now as the Sustainability Initiatives Coordinating Committee ‐ have worked to review current AWWA sustainability activities, identify additional short‐ and long‐term activities for the association, and develop a draft strategy for implementing the recommended activities. Short‐term activities are defined as those that can be completed in 2010 with minimal staff and financial resources; long‐term activities are identified as those that will require some level of staff time and/or financial resources. More than 40 past, planned, or potential activities were identified. The ad hoc committee then reviewed and narrowed the list to seven short‐term and seven long‐term activities. This article provides an overview of the process and details the identified activities along with the committee members responsible for implementing them. |
