A Quantitative and Qualitative Study on the Semi-Affixes of Modern Chinese

Based on the statistical data of the Grammatical Knowledge-Base of Contemporary Chinese, this article is focused on the statistical data on the frequency of word-formation. Apart from this quantitative study, this paper has discussed semi-affixes of its function of fixation, productivity & grammaticalization from the perspective of qualitative study. Based on the above criteria, discrimination is made between semi-affixes & word components. At the end of this paper, a list of semi-affixes with 23 semi-prefixes & 53 semi-suffixes is included.
