Duration Analysis of Quadric-Syllabic Prosodic Words in Putonghua

This paper studied the duration of quadric-syllabic prosodic words in utterances, mainly focusing on the effect of break level, combination structure & syntactic structure on duration of quadric-syllabic words in Putonghua. The results show that break levels in the main influence the forth syllable duration in a quadric-syllabic prosodic word. Combination structures mainly influence the duration relation of the second & the third syllables & syntactic structures mainly influence the second syllable duration.
