Zusammenfassung: | A novel paradigm is proposed for the Spanish verb such that the tense-aspect opposition is in a dialectical relationship to the mood-person pair; a new paradigmatic set results from the interaction of these four categories. The classical tense/mood division is abandoned in favor of a new structure based on the parameters of accent, person, aspect, & mood, & the traditional conjugation sets comprising 10 simple verbal forms are replaced with the topological-natural method of pragmatics developed earlier (Calvo, 1994) in which there are no empty/defective representations. 3 Figures.
