Zusammenfassung: | Properties of technical objects are defined as the qualities, features, or characteristics of materials, machines, tools, units, & systems enabling them to perform the expected task or function. Detailed, alphabetic lists of linguistic terms denoting such properties in German & English are compiled, differentiating between verbs, adjectival constructions, & phrases & arranging the corpus into the following sections: (1) possession of properties, (2) adding, giving, or imparting properties to technical objects, (3) the attainment & achievement of properties, (4) affecting & influencing the properties of technical objects, (5) changing or modifying properties, (6) improving & enhancing of properties, & (7) the determination, assessment, & ascertaining of properties. A synoptic table listing all English terms assembled in the corpus in an alphabetic order & with German equivalents is included. References. Z. Dubiel |
