Zusammenfassung: | In English, 'lead' has been documented since 825. It has become the basis on which anglicisms have spread all over the world. Some words derived from this morpheme have become part of Spanish, in general, & the dialect spoken in Chile. Its prestige & frequency of use has increased greatly in the last few years. This study makes use of two original sources of data: the Integral Spanish of Chile & Anglichile, & a corpus of anglicisms in Chilean Spanish together with the records of the Chilean texts of Crea & Corde (Spanish Royal Academy).
