Zusammenfassung: | In Finnish child language, enclitic particles are sometimes used in ways different from Standard Finnish, cf compounds such as tornikinauto (pro torniautokin) 'also a car with a turret', kaurahankeksi (pro kaurakeksihan) 'why, an oatmeal biscuit', taysikokuu (pro taysikuuko) 'the full moon'? etc. Many compounds are probably not as tightly fixed units in child language as they are in Standard Finnish. In child language, enclitic particles are sometimes used in an order not allowed in Standard Finnish (eg, tamahankin 'also this one', maistoitkokaan 'did you even taste'?). Furthermore, in Standard Finnish any enclitic particle can occur only once in a sentence, but in child language it can occur twice: en halua aidinkaan sylissakaan 'I don't want to sit even on the mother's lap'. Sometimes Finnish adults use enclitic particles in similar ways as Finnish children. Apparently child language reveals certain hidden tendencies of adult Finnish. 9 References.
