Zusammenfassung: | The paper presents the resumption of an investigation concluded 10 years ago, which at the time concerned the sociocultural status of a homogeneous group of immigrants to Bucharest. Settled in Bucharest beginning in 1980, this group of immigrants created a linguistic island whose status we defined in 1989. Ten years later, we find its situation rather puzzling, as it did not develop towards the status of a community or towards a strengthening of its identity as an island either. The trend of the evolution of this population group is now towards integration into the native community of the town. The conclusion of our investigation points to a fundamental change of mentality, which implies the purposeful abandonment of native cultural-linguistic repertories. 3 References.
